DESCRIPTION:

7.5-21 cm; two aberrant brightly colored species, but all others drably colored in olive gray, brown or black and white; longbills are like washed out nectariniids; berrypeckers like stout, short- and thick-billed drab meliphagids; most species live solitarily or in pairs;

FOOD:

diet of fruit and invertebrates;

BREEDING:

cup nest; 1-2 eggs; biparental care (?)
