Current Research:

Studies of mechanisms and functions of bioluminescence in marine organisms. Approaches include systematics, phylogenetics, physiology, behavior, morphology and ecology in both field and laboratory. Current emphasis on bioluminescent signaling, mating patterns, population biology, functional morphology, and phylogeny and systematics of ostracode crustaceans.
