Evolutionary Biology at Cornell Outside the
Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB)

The biological sciences at Cornell include several hundred faculty spread among more than 10 departments in the three colleges. In addition to evolutionary biologists within the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, evolutionary biologists are to be found in a number of departments outside ours. Of particular potential relevance to McCune students are the following faculty in several departments:

Warren Allmon, an invertebrate paleontologist, in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences

Charles Aquadro, a population geneticist, in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics

William Crepet, Jerrold Davis, Jeff Doyle, Melissa Luckow, Karl Niklas, and Kevin Nixon are all systematists and/or paleobotanists in the Department of Plant Biology

Bryan Danforth, James Liebherr, and Quentin Wheeler are systematists in the Department of Entomology

Rasmus Nielson is an evolutionary geneticist in Biometry

The Paleontological Research Institution, which houses Cornell's Invertebrate and Vertebrate Fossil Collections and Malacology Collection is an important evolutionary resource in Ithaca.
