Winged warblers: the story is out! David Toews’ presentation on the work he and Scott Taylor have led on the genomics of Blue- and Golden-winged Warblers played to a standing-room-only audience at the North American Ornithological Conference yesterday, and apparently there were many dozens of additional people left outside who wanted to attend the talk but could not get into the room! And today the associated paper came out in Current Biology, complete with spectacular illustrations of these birds and their hybrids by our artist colleague Liz Fuller. The pdf of the online-early paper itself is here: Toews, Taylor et al 2016 and related publicity is linked here and here. Stay tuned for more, as this same paper will be featured on the cover of the September 12th issue of Current Biology.
