Ben Van Doren is a Marshall Scholar! Senior undergraduate Ben Van Doren has been selected as Cornell’s only Marshall Scholar, winning this very prestigious fellowship for post-graduate study at Oxford University where he will continue to study aspects of avian migration. Ben’s honors research in our lab includes his comparative study of migration in stonechats, for which he has already generated and analyzed whole-genome data from many individual birds. Ben’s broader engagement with birds, research, and Cornell is too extensive to easily summarize here, but you can read about much of it in Cornell’s press release about Ben’s accomplishments. Way to go, Ben — we are very proud of you!
