Short Courses and Workshops

Short Courses & Workshops
|
Listed below are the short courses and
workshops that deal specifically with stable isotopes. Be sure to check with the organizer of the course
being offered, as some courses are geared more toward the research of stable
isotopes within a specific discipline, while others are directed toward the
technical aspects of instrumentation used
in the analysis of isotopes.
The IRMS training
courses are designed to familiarize Thermo Electron users with instrument
operations, regular
maintenance, and
troubleshooting tips. Get the most out of your instruments by learning the
diagnostic practices
essential to the
long-term reliability of the instruments and the results they produce.

14th Canadian Continuous Flow Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (CF-IRMS) Workshop.
http://cfirms2008.webhop.org The workshop runs from June 15-18, 2008 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan,Canada on the University of Saskatchewan campus. It brings togetherresearchers, technicians, graduate students and manufacturers fromaround the globe in a casual setting to discuss the technical issuessurrounding Stable Isotope Analysis. Students may compete for a studentprize as described on the web site. The focus of the workshop is not onspecific scientific results and interpretation of data, as in otherconferences. Instead, this is an opportunity to discuss problems andadvances in CF-IRMS measurement techniques. Professors, lab managers, technicians, and grad students alike all benefit from the experience.Radiocarbon in Ecology and Earth System Science July 14-19, 2008 University of California, Irvine http://ecology.botany.ufl.edu/radiocarbon08/
